I recently checked out the new FREE App from NASA that puts students in the role of air traffic controllers (minus the excessive coffee and stress). “Sector 33” helps students get a hold of some math concepts while solving problems with speed, time, distance, and certain requirements. I liked the fact that it was an interactive game which really grabbed their initial interest.  I was impressed by this App in that in seemed pretty realistic of some issues that might actually occur – delays due to thunderstorms and the timing of planes flying behind, separation distance, and safety issues all were taken in account.
